In Your Element ~ Retreats COMING SOON NOT TO BE MISSED !!

Seasons Greetings Beloveds.

I wanted to share with you all a short video clip of a 3 day retreat at which I was a presenter recently in Northern QLD. The retreat was based on the 5 elements being ETHER; AIR; FIRE; EARTH; WATER and the significance of these elements to us all on a physical, mental, spiritual and emotional level.

I spoke about the wonders of Ayurvedic cooking and the use of food and herbs as medicine. I also ran a discussion about the types of foods to eat and those to avoid for each of the doshas demonstrating how weight management is easy once you know your own unique dosha (consitution) and how this affects your metabolism.

Everyone on the retreat had an absolute ball and discovered a lot about themselves along the way as you will see from the video clip below:

We will be running a follow up retreat in September 2011 no previous attendance required.

Tongue Scrapers

WHAT IS A TONGUE SCRAPER?

A tongue scraper is a small device which should be made of pure and unalloyed elements such as copper or silver, which impart considerable benefits to the human body.

BENEFITS OF TONGUE SCRAPING

Scraping your tongue with a specially designed tongue scraper has amazing health benefits and can be an important tool for improving your digestion, boosting your immune system and  detoxing

While you sleep at night your body gets to work on clearing out all toxins. Some of those toxins are deposited on the tongue and can be seen as a coating of fur on the tongue particularly first thing in the morning. The colour of the coating is an indication as to which of your doshic elements are out of balance

By gently scraping this coating off first thing in the morning you:

* avoid swallowing and reabsorbing these toxins to improve eliminating them for good!
* give your internal organs a boost as all the organs of the body are represented on the tongue
* stimulate your digestion to start working which improves your metabolism and can help with weight loss programs
* eliminate bad breath by scraping off the toxins on which bacteria like to feed and multiply

HOW TO USE A TONGUE SCRAPER

1. Brush teeth first

2. After brushing, start at the back of your tongue, as far back as you can reach, without gagging and scrape towards the front of the tongue including the sides.

3. Keep the pressure fairly light ~ dont be overzealous!

4. Repeat 3 to 4 times until most or all the coating is removed.

5. Rinse mouth thoroughly with cold water.

6. Rinse scraper thoroughly before, during and after use in warm water.

7. Store scraper in a cool, dry, clean place.

WHEN TO USE A TONGUE SCRAPER?

1. First thing in the morning after brushing teeth.

2. During the day after a large/heavy meal if desired

3. Before bed if desired.

CAN I USE MY TOOTHBRUSH INSTEAD?

Absolutely not!  It does not have the design or texture or material required for a scraping of the tongue. Otherwise it would be called a "tongue brush" !!

WHERE CAN I GET ONE OF THESE AMAZING THINGS??

Contact me and I can supply you with one.
